Jyotiṣa

Working Together

Whatever brings you here — a question you have been carrying, a decision you are weighing, or simply a desire for clarity — we begin with a conversation. My role is to listen for what matters to you and draw on what I know in service of it, so that you remain at the center of your own life, with greater clarity about how you want to move within it.

Your First Consultation

Your first consultation is an orientation to your chart as a whole. Rather than beginning from a single question, we look broadly at what your chart indicates about your nature and the principal areas of your life, and at how those areas relate to one another. We also look at your current daśā, placing your present circumstances within the larger timing of your life, along with current transits and what they may indicate about the period ahead.

Continuing Consultations

Continuing consultations are for the questions that arrive as life moves. A decision you are weighing, a relationship you are trying to understand, a change you can feel coming, or a period that has been harder than you expected. With your chart already familiar to us both, we can set a single question at the center and follow it into the vargas, the daśā you are in, and the transits shaping this moment.

Choose 60 minutes for a broader or more complex inquiry, or 30 minutes for one focused question or follow-up.

Working with jyotiṣa

What We Look At

A Jyotiṣa chart maps the positions of the grahas — the planets, the Sun and Moon, Rāhu and Ketu — at the time and place of your birth. We consider the rāśi (sign) and nakṣatra (lunar constellation) each graha occupies, the bhāvas (houses) it influences, and how the grahas regard one another.

We can also work with vargas: additional charts that bring a single area of life into closer focus — marriage, career, children, spiritual practice — when your questions call for that detail.

Through these connections we can explore dharmic purpose, career pathways, the nature of relationships, spiritual life and practice, and periods of significant change. The chart gives us a way of seeing how these areas of life inform one another rather than considering each in isolation.

Timing is central to Jyotiṣa. Through daśās — planetary periods that unfold in a particular sequence through a lifetime — we can see when particular grahas, and the areas of life they signify, become more prominent. Current transits add another layer, showing what is being activated now.

I don't approach the chart as a fixed description of who you are, or as a prediction of what must happen. Jyotiṣa offers context — a way of recognizing patterns, understanding the significance of timing, and seeing more clearly the circumstances and possibilities within a particular period of life. From there, you can consider how you want to meet what is in front of you.
